Leonardo’s sketches show how much preparation went to a single painting. The exhibition presents numerous sketches of the subjects that he depicted in his great paintings. These sketches include not only individual details of the human body like heads, arms, feet and hands but also drawings of flowers, animals, landscapes and drapery.
